A Matter Of Perspective

A Bottom (or Spankee) would look at this photo and say, "When she gets here, she's going to put me across her knees and paddle me good!"

A Top (or Spanker), on the other hand, would look at this photo and say, "When she finally gets here and hands the paddle to me, I'll put her across my knees, pull that skirt up, and paddle her good!"

It all depends on how you look at it--and on who's doing the looking!"

OR

She could say

"I found this under the couch cushion in the living room. You had better be planning on using this on me for my birthday, not someone else or I will use this on you. Over your head!"

Keep up the great photo-stories!

The paddle she carries is of the souvenir variety once widely sold in Five & Ten stores. They often had cutsie-cute sayings like "For the Little Deer with a Bear Behind" with appropriate pictures. They're a fascinating relic of the 1960's and 70's when the subject of spanking could be approached with some humor.

Megan Lowry -- The key word here is "souvenir". I used to have one like that--I think the phrase on it was "Heat For The Seat". First time I actually tried to use it, it broke after a few swats. They're cute, but worthless for any actual spanking....

Hi Megan Lowry - well said. Yes, the "cutsey- cute sayings", humour and endearing yet strict nature of spanking in 60s and 70s is perfectly embodied in the "little deer with the bear behind". And even though my fairest, tender , bare botty was on the receiving end of strict discipline back then (mom's spatula and hairbrush, not paddle) I have always been so very fond of its iconic status and how its meaning and value has changed over the years. It is now a wonderfully cute and humorous museum piece. Brenda x
